Pixel 6a Battery Going Bad

I am one of those people who has a bad Pixel 6a battery. I received the update last night. Now, everyone uses their phones differently which means my experience may not match yours. Also, I carry 2 phones and try to use the work phone as much as possible.

After the update last night I woke up to the battery showing 97%. I keep a black screen on it when not in use and have the lowest screen turn off setting. It is almost 1:30 and it’s already down to 51%. My wife uses her phone more than I do and she is down to 39%. That included 1 Google Meet call. My battery discharges are at 492 while my wife’s phone is pushing 650.

The new update also comes with a battery time estimate. This estimate seems highly inaccurate. Currently it says it will last till 11:45 PM last night. This morning it was stating 5 am the next day.

I was always planning on waiting until the pixel 10 came out. With two phones I am sure I will manage till then. The biggest problem is travel. I have holiday coming up which means lots of pictures. Taking pictures has always been a battery drain. I am afraid I will have to charge my phone multiple times a day.

Lastly, while I could replace the batteries myself I am hesitant to do so. My previous replacements were not slam dunks. On top of this, where we live there is no one that can actually replace our batteries. We’ll just have to tough it out until the 10 ships.
