After several more updates Chrome OS is working quite well. A few updates broke the 3G while other updates made it hard to connect to wifi. Now, I am able to use it as my primary notebook. I’m sorta forced to as my old laptop has recently died.
For me, working remotely offers me the ability to carry around a light laptop that gives me access to the internet. However, this means that I can’t use it when I am traveling. When those times arise I need a full notebook. One that will allow me to download large files and will allow me to install applications on it.
I am still of the impression that Chrome OS fits perfectly for a company that relies on virtualization. For the everyday person who checks facebook and watches youtube you can do that now on just about any smartphone. You don’t really even need a notebook for that.
